Today, 9/10, is World Suicide Prevention Day, where the SPF team took the opportunity to engage with students about mental health and the 988 lifeline. Students and staff wore purple and teal to show support. Airheads were distributed to students stickered with “You Matter” labels, encouraging them to write a kind note and then pass it forward. A heartfelt thank you to Perfetti Van Melle for their generous donation and support in promoting student mental health. Throughout the rest of the month, the SPF team will continue to sponsor the “You Matter” initiative at both schools, raising awareness and education surrounding suicide prevention. Together, we can make a difference!

Mr. Boh's students worked together to decorate their classroom door with historical thinking skills!
Working together on this door allowed them to build foundational knowledge. Any student who passes by in the hall can learn about essential questions, supporting questions, contextualization, close reading, and corroboration.

This is day one of KY Safe Schools Week!
The theme is “Focus on School Safety.” The goal is to raise
awareness about various aspects of school safety
and empower students, teachers, parents, and the
community to take proactive measures to create
a safe learning environment.
I pledge to “Focus on School Safety”:
I will "frame the positive" by showing respect, kindness, and acceptance to others.
I will "zoom in on kindness" and stand against bullying behaviors in all forms.
I will "adjust my focus" by staying alert and reporting anything that doesn’t seem right.
I will "capture responsibility" by owning my actions and following school rules.
I will "develop the full picture" by working with others to build a safe, supportive school community.
Please show your support and take the online pledge here: https://kycss.org/safe-schools-week/safety-week-pledge/
